Fall 2024 Welcome to my first ever newsletter! I’m so excited to share with you the adventures God has already pushed me through. Hang on tight! It’s always a wild ride! Past Growing up as a missionary kid in Africa, I always knew I wanted to return one day to continue to spread God’s Word to the unreached. God has gifted me with a passion for reaching the unreached and I hope to go back with a skill set to match it. Present    I am attending Moody Aviation in order to receive the proper training to serve as a missionary pilot and aircraft mechanic. Currently, I am in the midst of maintenance training on track to gain A&P certification in a year and a half.   Future   My goal is to become equipped with a specific skill set in mission aviation so that I can help take the Good News to people who do not yet have it. You are receiving this newsletter because I want to tell you of God’s incredible work and ask for your prayerful support. My parents were able to...

Winter 2024 Prayer Letter

Winter ‘24 - ‘25 A new year has dawned, airframe classes have begun, and I made one of the biggest decisions I will ever make. Welcome back to Isaac’s Newsletter! I’d say,  overall , Moody students are a good-looking crew ;) School Update On December 23rd, I took my FAA General written exam. This exam was a cumulative test on everything I had been learning in the maintenance courses up to that point and it was given by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) rather than Moody Aviation. The General Exam is one of three written exams I must pass in order to qualify for A&P (aircraft mechanic) certification. May God have all the glory for allowing me to pass the exam. At this point, I am now in the Airframe portion of my maintenance training here at Moody Aviation and I am heartily enjoying it. It feels so cool to get to work on real life airplanes. In the upcoming months I will learn how to rivet sheet metal, weld, rig flight controls, test and inspect aircraft instrumen...

Spring Recap‘25 The overarching theme of this past spring has been God’s sustaining goodness. Welcome back to Isaac’s Newsletter! What a bodacious group of fellas I get to live with School Update: I am still chugging along in the airframe portion of A&P school but things are starting to get real interesting. I just finished sheet metal, welding, and instrument inspections and now I’m moving on to flight control rigging, hydraulics, and airframe inspection training. The end of airframe is nearing very quickly (June 6) and the stress of the oncoming testing is rising. I’m learning so much every day and having a blast doing it. I cannot overemphasize enough how much I am enjoying A&P school. All those times in Algebra class when I was dreaming of going to a school where I could get my hands dirty and learn how things work have come true. What a blessing! Cutting thick steel with the “gas axe”...
